Main Responsibilities:
Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives.
Checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
Ensuring that all materials usedand work performed are as per specifications.
Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials.
Agree on a price for materials and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and thegeneral workforce involved in the project.
Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractors.
Planning the work and efficiently organizing the site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site.
Preparing reports as required.
Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
Any other duties that can be expected within the wider scope of this position on the request of direct supervisor.
General Work Experience:
Demonstrated experience in relevant WASH projects
Excellent writing and communication skills in English, and Arabic.
Experience in project management (e.g. monitoring, reporting).
Qualifications and Requirements:
BSc in Civil Engineering - construction department
Minimum of two years of work experience in the field of rehabilitation/constructions/WASH.
At least 3 years’ experience in NGO works.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Must be fluent in English, and Arabic languages both written and spoken.
Ability to work with a team and under pressure.
Filing of documents, maintenance of database, and creation of reports according to project coordinator.
Competence in basic Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, etc.)
Decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
