
Job Purpose: The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Program Focal Point is responsible for comprehensive development, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of Sexual Violence(SV)/Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) strategies and care for survivors of SV/IPV in the ORGANIZATION project. They should be guided by survivor-centred princi-ples, follow ORGANIZATION guidelines to create access and provide care to survivors and work according to ORGANIZATION values, standards and procedures. |
Assessment & Strategies
• Being responsible for assessing the community perception of SV/IPV, the perceived needs of survivors of SV/IPV and reasons survivors do not seek health care.
• In collaboration with the international staff responsible for SV program, develop, monitor and evaluate strategies for ORGANIZATION’s SV/IPV approach in the project based on ORGANIZATION’s overall strategy and procedures for SV/IPV.
Outreach and awareness.
• Responsible for training, support and follow up of the outreach team for SV/IPV awareness raising
• Resposible for community engagement to develop and improve awareness raising activities and community dialogue, discussion and messaging, materials and methods regarding the medical and psychological consequences of SV, availability of medical and psychosocial care and the importance of timely access after sexual violence.
• Responsible, together with the outreach team, for identifying and engaging with key target groups of trusted, respected community members and support services for outreach activities
Medical and psychosocial care
• Responsible for the set-up of care pathways and facilities for SV/IPV activities in line with ORGANIZATIONSV guidelines and ORGANIZATION standards and procedures.
• Responsible for the application of the 5 steps of implementation with the main objective to create timely access to quality comprehensive medical and psychosocial care for survivors of SV and IPV.
Referral and coordination
• Ensure information on the available support services for survivors of SV/IPV is gathered, a referral pathway is in place and that referrals are monitored and evaluated.
• Participate in SV sub-cluster meetings, maintain contacts and communicate and coordinate with
the different formal and informal support services.
Monitoring and evaluations
• Ensure relevant data is captured using the SV data tool, stored with ensured confidentiality, and analyzed.
Training
• Identify training needs, organize and coordinate training, coaching and supervision about SV/IPV for ORGANIZATION health care providers and other ORGANIZATION staff members, including community outreach teams and other
• staff, based on the findings of learning needs assessments, knowledge, attitude and practices questionnaires and observation.
• Organize and lead regular SGBV committee meetings.
• Work in a complex and sensitive environment, with daily challenges, requiring good communication skills and the ability to work in difficult situations.
• Be responsible for the set-up of care pathways and facilities for SV activities in line with ORGANIZATION SV guidelines and ORGANIZATION standards and procedures.
• Support safe disclosure through safe identification for SV /IPV across the project, ensure access to comprehensive SV/ IPV care with specific focus on integration within the Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre (ITFC) and Outpatient department (OPD).
• Be responsible for training, support and follow up of the outreach team for SV/IPV awareness raising and community engagement.
• Participate in trainings arranged within the medical department or others as required.
• Participate in evaluation, quality improvement activities and audit to help understanding and support the project to improve the quality of care.
• Ensure reporting and seek support from the line manager on any SGBV program related and medical subjects to ensure better understanding and case management. Balance the needs of the patients with the possibilities within a complex situation, especially regarding limited capacity to refer.
• Maintain Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) standards.
• Monitor and report the need and use of medical supplies (drugs & materials) in close collaboration with line manager and the medical team.
• Participate in medical team and routine meetings.

Experience
| • Experience working with survivors of gender-based violence or sexual violence (essential) • Experience with NGO desirable • Experience raising awareness and engaging communities about gender-based violence or sexual violence desirable. • Experience working in gender-based violence protection or child protection desirable. • Experience providing community awareness, information, education and communication activities, or health promotion desirable. • Experience coaching, mentoring, supervision, training and capacity building desirable. |
