The Project Officer will serve as the primary focal point for the duration of the three-year project, which will be implemented in collaboration with a partner organization. In this role, the Project Officer will supervise and support the partner in the direct implementation of livelihood and nutrition-focused activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and the specific needs of vulnerable populations.

 

Key responsibilities include conducting regular field visits to monitor progress, assess the effectiveness of interventions, and provide on-the-ground support. The Project Officer will also lead capacity-building efforts for the partner, oversee project reporting, coordinate meetings, and ensure that the project budget is effectively managed and aligned with the project's goals.

Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders will foster a supportive network, facilitating the successful implementation of interventions aimed at enhancing economic resilience and nutritional well-being. Monitoring and Follow up:

  • Develop and follow up on monthly Plans of Action (POAs) and Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs) aligned with the project.

  • Monitor and evaluate project activities to ensure they meet quality standards and achieve desired outcomes.

  • Ensure comprehensive project documentation and provide the Project Coordinator with regular updates as needed.

 

Developing and following up on monthly POAs and DIPs will ensure project activities are systematically planned and executed, maintaining alignment with project objectives. Regular monitoring and evaluation will uphold quality standards and ensure desired outcomes are achieved.

 

Comprehensive project documentation and regular updates to the Project Coordinator will provide clear visibility of project progress and facilitate informed decision-making. This will ensure accountability and timely adjustments to project strategies as needed.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly narrative and finance reports detailing progress, challenges, and achievements related to project activities to NES PC and NES AM
  • Review and verify partner finance and narrative reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness in the delivery of project services.
  • Prepare detailed field visit reports and provide recommendations for improving the quality and impact of interventions. 

     

Preparing and submitting monthly reports will provide a transparent overview of progress, challenges, and achievements in livelihood and nutrition efforts, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
Reviewing and verifying partner reports will ensure compliance and accuracy, maintaining the integrity of the project’s activities.
Detailed field visit reports and recommendations will enhance the quality and effectiveness of project initiatives, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the project.

Support and Capacity Building:

  • Provide oversight and support to project/field partner staff, enhancing their capacity to deliver high-quality services.

  • Facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives for partner staff as required.

  • Work closely with the NES project Coordinator and support functions to ensure needed support for activities implementation is provided promptly.

 

Providing oversight and support to project/field partner staff will enhance their capacity to deliver high-quality services, leading to improved project outcomes. Facilitating training and capacity-building initiatives will empower staff with the skills and knowledge needed for effective implementation.

 

Working closely with the NES Coordinator and support functions will ensure timely and adequate support for project activities, promoting efficiency and effectiveness in project operations. This collaboration will lead to a well-coordinated and resource-supported project environment.

  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and donor requirements specific to livelihood and nutrition projects.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the NES Project Coordinator and NES Area Manager, with an emphasis on addressing emerging livelihood and nutrition needs.
