
The Medical Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring health programs in the assigned area, ensuring the delivery of quality health services to populations most affected by the crisis. The Medical Officer works closely with the Health Coordinator, other sectoral teams, local partners, and health authorities to address health needs and gaps in the emergency response.

v Conduct rapid health assessments and identify the priority health problems and needs of the affected population.
v Design, implement, and evaluate health interventions, including primary health care, maternal health care aimed at reducing maternal mortality, mental health, disease surveillance, outbreak response, health promotion, and referral systems, in line with the humanitarian standards and best practices.
v Supervise, train, and mentor the health staff and volunteers, and ensure they have the necessary skills, equipment, and supplies to provide quality health services.
v Monitor and report on the health program activities, outputs, and outcomes, and ensure timely and accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
v Coordinate and collaborate with the health authorities, other humanitarian actors, and community leaders to ensure complementarity, avoid duplication, and enhance the quality and coverage of the health services.
v Support the integration of cross-cutting issues, such as nutrition, Protection, WASH, into the health program.
v Work closely with the supervisor to ensure timely spending of the activity budgets and provide input in forecasting of activities.
v Contribute to the development of health proposals, budgets, and reports, and ensure compliance with the donor and organizational requirements and regulations.
v Participate in health coordination meetings, technical working groups, and other coordination forums, and represent the organization in relevant external events.

ü Typically, bachelor's degree in medicine (Medical Doctor).
ü Valid registration/license to practice medicine with the relevant national medical authority.
ü Minimum of three years of experience in health program management in humanitarian settings, preferably with an international NGO.
ü Knowledge of the humanitarian principles, standards, and coordination mechanisms, as well as the health sector policies, guidelines, and protocols in the country of operation
ü Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
ü Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic and complex environment.
ü Good user of MS Office, mainly MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
