The role involves monitoring the center and conducting regular inspection rounds. The role holder is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and security of the premises, assisting team members during emergency evacuations (e.g., fire or security incidents), and using fire extinguishers to manage minor fires if necessary. The role also includes covering for other watchmen as needed.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder may be required to work outside the normal role profile and adjust working hours accordingly.
- Secure main gate access for the center and record visitor details accurately in the logbook.
- Conduct post-departure checks to ensure all equipment and electrical devices are switched off.
- Protect the organization’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Ensure that, in the absence of personnel, the center remains secure against theft, damage, and unauthorized access.
- Observe and report signs of crime or disorder, investigating disturbances as necessary.
- Act lawfully in defense of life or property.
- Apprehend intruders and evict unauthorized individuals.
- Record unusual occurrences and report suspicious incidents in detail.
- Conduct regular or random patrols of the building and perimeter, inspecting lights, locks, doors, and windows.
- Monitor and control access at entrances and vehicle gates to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering the center.
- Inspect vehicles to ensure only authorized vehicles are parked within or near the center.
- Review the shift log with the outgoing watchman to ensure continuity.
ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical generators, including checking oil, water, and other essential maintenance indicators to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage and control visitor access to the center by:
- Requesting the visitor’s name, organization, and purpose of visit.
- Verifying identification and confirming appointments.
- Authorizing or denying access based on clearance.
- Inspecting personal belongings, including handbags, when necessary.
- Accurately recording visitor details in the Visitor Logbook.
Escorting visitors safely to the reception area or designated location.
School certificate as minimum
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
Proven work experience at least two years as watchmen or similar position
Ability to operate detective systems and emergency equipment.
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
Surveillance skills and detail orientation
Integrity and professionalism
Strong physique
Ability to read and write in Arabic.
