➢ JOB SUMMARY:
Assignment Purpose: Strengthen the capacity of mhGAP doctors through continuous mentorship and clinical
supervision, with a focus on technical support to enhance overall mental health services.
Clinical Assessment:
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and
mental status examinations.
• Collaborating and discussing the MH shared cases with the case managers and supporting the mhGAP doctors in the
health facilities with regular supervision, face-to-face or online. In addition to providing online consultation to them when
needed.
Diagnosis:
• Formulate accurate diagnoses based on established diagnostic criteria (e.g., DSM-5,
ICD-10).
Treatment Planning:
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and
interdisciplinary teams.
• Determine and prescribe appropriate psychiatric medications, considering evidence-based
practices.
Patient Management:
• Provide ongoing patient management, including regular follow-ups and monitoring side
effects of medications.
• Communicate effectively with patients about their treatment, progress, and any
Education: University Degree in Medicine and Psychiatry (Essential).
• Training: Training in the mhGAP Intervention Guide (IG).
• Experience: At least 2 years of related field experience; NGO experience is a plus.
• Languages: Fluent English and Arabic (writing and reading) are essential.
• Skills: * Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
o Ability to write professional reports and manuals.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
