Position Title: Guard, Female

Location: Syria / Deir Ezzor – Jadid Bakkara.

Reporting to: Protection officer

Direct reports: Non

Number need: 1

Deadline: 28 May 2026

 

Job Profile:

The Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of organizational facilities, materials, and personnel by controlling access, monitoring activities, and responding appropriately to potential threats. This role requires vigilance, discretion, and a commitment to upholding the organization's values and safeguarding policies


 

Accountability and Complexity

  • Guard the door and the materials and/or facilities, remaining awake and alert.

  • The Doorman must be able to answer some basic questions about the organization

  • Control entry to facilities by requiring the showing of badges in order to gain access and take names of the visitors.

  • Prevent intruders or thieves from entering or seizing property.

  • Notify the Manager of any threat to materials and/or facilities.

  • If requested, notify the national police of threats to materials and/or facilities.

  • Do not use excessive force.

·       Certify relevant data is being collected, e.g. attendance lists signed

  • Discretion and uphold the principle of confidentiality when dealing with personal and sensitive information

  • Ensure that the entry remains accessible and in proper conditions for people to access

  • Perform other duties as needed

Skills, knowledge and expertise required for the role.

Essential criteria

·       Understand the humanitarian mission of the organization.

·       2-3 years' experience within an emergency context.

·       Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Ability to think critically and creatively.

·       Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.

·       Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team.

·       Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.

·       Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.

 

Desirable criteria

·      Ability to Write and read

·      Preferred to be resident of Kisra
