The Cleaner/Facility Support Staff is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the designated facility. This role ensures that all office spaces, supply areas, and communal facilities are clean, organized, and properly maintained to support the overall efficiency of the organization. The role may also provide essential support in humanitarian response operations when required.

  1. Perform general cleaning duties across offices and facility areas, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, and restrooms.

  2. Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities to ensure all areas meet organizational standards.

  3. Undertake heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned.

  4. Report deficiencies, damages, or repair needs to management promptly.

  5. Carry out minor repairs and adjustments as needed.

  6. Stock, organize, and maintain supply rooms, ensuring availability of necessary cleaning and office supplies.

  7. Provide support to other staff members to help achieve organizational goals when required.

  8. Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and safe handling of chemicals.

  • Proper use and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment.

  • Commitment to high standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.

  • Ability to safely handle heavy equipment and machinery.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Proven experience as a cleaner with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

  • Previous experience in the humanitarian aid sector is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in Arabic; basic understanding of English preferred.

  • Ability to remain composed and positive under pressure, handling tense situations with diplomacy and tact.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with consistent, respectful behavior toward colleagues and beneficiaries.
