KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Implementation
Coordinate and oversee the implementation of project activities in accordance with approved project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Ensure effective execution of rehabilitation works in compliance with technical specifications, BoQs, and contractual agreements.
Monitor progress of construction and rehabilitation activities and address implementation challenges in a timely manner.
Procurement & Supply Management
Coordinate procurement processes for medical equipment, devices, medicines, and medical supplies in line with organizational and donor procurement procedures.
Liaise with procurement, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely purchasing, delivery, installation, and handover of equipment and supplies.
Ensure procured items meet required quality, technical, and safety standards.
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the main focal point for coordination with health authorities, hospital management, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Facilitate regular coordination meetings and site visits with relevant stakeholders.
Support communication with donors and partners as required.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
Monitor project activities against agreed indicators and work plans.
Contribute to the preparation of regular narrative and activity reports, including progress updates, challenges, and lessons learned.
Maintain proper project documentation, including contracts, procurement files, and activity records.
Financial Oversight & Compliance
Support budget tracking and expenditure monitoring in coordination with finance staff.
Ensure project implementation complies with donor requirements, organizational policies, and internal controls.
Support audits, verifications, and donor monitoring visits.
Team Management & Capacity Building
Supervise project staff, consultants, and daily workers involved in project implementation.
Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to the project team.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and adherence to organizational values.
Risk Management & Quality Assurance
Identify implementation risks related to construction, procurement, or operations and propose mitigation measures.
Ensure quality assurance throughout rehabilitation works and procurement processes.
Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are applied across all project activities.
Other Duties
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Area Manager relevant to the role.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Health Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
Proven experience supervising rehabilitation or construction works and managing procurement processes.
Strong knowledge of project cycle management, reporting, and coordination.
Good understanding of donor compliance and humanitarian principles.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Commitment to safeguarding, accountability, and organizational values.
Desirable:
Previous experience working with INGOs and institutional donors.
Experience in health infrastructure projects or hospital rehabilitation.
Familiarity with procurement of medical equipment and pharmaceutical supplies.
Experience working in conflict-affected or early recovery contexts.
