The medical Consultant will be managing and overseeing the operations of our mobile clinic. This position will be responsible for supervising a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, midwives, nutritionists, and pharmacists, while ensuring smooth and efficient clinic operations. The Medical Consultant will also play a key role in monitoring and managing the procurement of medicines, tracking their expiry dates, and ensuring that the clinic adheres to medical standards and protocols.
- Team Management & Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of mobile clinic staff, including doctors, midwives, nutritionists, and pharmacists. Provide guidance, mentorship, and continuous professional development for staff members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate team-building exercises to maintain high morale and productivity.
- Ensure smooth and efficient operations of the mobile clinic, including patient management, medical procedures, and administrative functions.
- Monitor patient care delivery and ensure adherence to healthcare standards, protocols, and best practices.
- Ensure the clinic’s mobile facilities are properly equipped and well-maintained.
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and safety protocols for both patients and staff.
- Conduct regular review of patient records, medical equipment, and medications to ensure quality and compliance.
- Prepare and submit reports on the performance and operational status of the mobile clinic to senior management.
- Medicine Procurement & Inventory Management:
- Oversee the procurement of medicines and medical supplies for the mobile clinic, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained at all times.
- Monitor the expiration dates of medicines, Informing the direct manager of any material that is close to expiration
- Work closely with the pharmacist to ensure proper medication management and compliance with legal and safety regulations.
- Patient Care & Coordination:
- Ensure high-quality patient care through the provision of medical, nutritional, and pharmaceutical services in the mobile clinic.
- Coordinate with stakeholders , local authorities and health authorities
- Work closely with local communities to raise awareness of mobile clinic services and promote access to healthcare.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (Faculty of Medicine) with a valid medical license.
- Proven experience in a medical leadership role, preferably in mobile clinics or similar healthcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of medicine procurement, inventory management, and expiry date tracking.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and lead a multidisciplinary team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent English speaking and writing
- Required Professional Experience
Minimum one to two years of experience in working in a relief or development NGO with a focus on MEAL processes
- Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
BS Degree in international development, international relations, public health, nutrition, statistics, community development, or other relevant discipline is required
- Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in; development work, statistics, social sciences, monitoring and evaluation, information technology or related field.
- Additional experience with refugees, emergency response and NGO experience preferred.
- Computer skills, in particular email, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Working knowledge of SPSS an added advantage.
- Fluency in Arabic required, and ability to write and speak English.
- Good report writing skills.
- Detailed oriented and able to verify data quality.
- Strong communication skills (Strong interpersonal skills.).
- Good contextual knowledge of the local community and social/cultural constraints, realities and organizational relationships.

- Travel and/or Work Environment
The position requires 60% of the time to be field-based and 40% at office level
Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis, including during a organization response to a manmade or natural disaster.
The position requires availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally.
- Language Requirement
- Excellent written English, with fluency in speaking Arabic and English.
- Ability to write very good quality reports in English is required.
