Blumont is hiring 8 Social Workers 2 in each following locations ( Raqqa, Deir-ez Zor, Homs, Hama) for a program focusing on reducing tensions and improving well-being through community engagement in northeast and central Syria. The Social Worker will be responsible for delivering case management, psychosocial support (PSS), and social cohesion activities for vulnerable individuals and groups, including children, adolescents, women, men, older persons, and persons with disabilities. Under the supervision of the PSS Officer, the Social Worker identifies and supports protection cases, links clients with essential services, and facilitates individual and group-based PSS interventions. The position also contributes to community-based initiatives that foster peaceful coexistence, reintegration of returnees, and social cohesion between diverse population groups. This is a field-based role requiring strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and a survivor-centered approach.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify individuals and families at risk of violence, abuse, exploitation, neglect, or other protection concerns, using survivor-centered and rights-based approaches. 
     
  • · Develop individualized case plans, ensuring follow-up, monitoring, and appropriate adjustments according to evolving needs. 
     
  • · Facilitate safe and confidential referrals to relevant services, including health, GBV, legal, psychosocial, and livelihoods support and ensure effective coordination with service providers. 
     
  • · Regularly update service mapping and maintain a functional referral pathway to ensure timely access to support. 
     
  • · Provide emergency assistance, basic emotional support, and psychological first aid (PFA) for urgent cases. 
     
  • · Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality, ethical guidelines, information management protocols, and case management SOPs throughout all case handling processes. 
     

Psychosocial Support (PSS) Activities

  • · Design and facilitate individual and group-based PSS interventions tailored to various age and vulnerability groups, focusing on resilience, coping strategies, emotional regulation, and trauma recovery. 
     
  • · Organize and lead creative, recreational, and therapeutic activities (e.g., art, games, storytelling, sports) to enhance emotional well-being and social connectedness. 
     
  • · Establish safe and inclusive spaces for participants to build confidence, develop life skills, and strengthen positive peer relationships. 
     
  • · Provide ongoing psychosocial support and basic counseling to individuals and families as part of holistic case management interventions. 
     

Social Cohesion and Reintegration Support 
 

  • · Support community-based initiatives that promote inclusion, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence between returnees and host communities, reducing social tensions and mitigating risks of resentment or recidivism. 
     
  • · Facilitate dialogue, joint community projects, and collaborative activities that foster empathy, mutual understanding, and trust. 
     
  • · Support awareness sessions that address stigma, discrimination, and harmful coping practices, which will contribute to stronger, more resilient communities. 
     

Documentation, Reporting, and Data Protection 
 

  • · Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential case records, ensuring adherence to data protection and information management standards. 
     
  • · Submit regular case management and activity reports, capturing key data, trends, challenges, and success stories. 
     
  • · Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities by sharing qualitative and quantitative information on case outcomes and psychosocial impacts. 
     

Capacity Building and Support 
 

  • · Participate in internal trainings, workshops, and peer-learning sessions to enhance professional skills and technical knowledge. 
     



 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field or at least 3 years of experience working in a protection program. 
     


 

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS 
 

  • · Minimum 2 years of experience in protection, case management, or psychosocial support services in humanitarian or social service settings. 
     
  • · Demonstrated experience delivering PSS activities and supporting diverse groups, including children, adolescents, women, men, older persons, and persons with disabilities. 
     
  • · Strong knowledge of protection principles, case management standards, referral pathways, and social cohesion approaches
     
  • · Excellent communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills. 
     
  • · Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular). 
     
  • · Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and working proficiency in English are required. 
     
  • · Strong understanding of assessment, planning, referral, and follow-up processes for vulnerable individuals and households.
