Programme development

• Support the field teams with needs assessment and provide technical input during proposal development and reviews.
• Work with the Medical Coordinator and the Medical Managers in the strategic planning for future health programs in NES.
• Support the Medical Managers in the implementation of the planned programs and or activities as may be needed by the Medical Managers.
• Ensure that different health related sectors (nutrition, GBV etc) are integrated into proposed new programs.

Program quality and technical monitoring

• Ensure technical supervision and support to MdM/LHA supported health facilities in AL Hassakeh, Aleppo and Al Raqqa governorates in collaboration with the Medical Managers.
• Ensure that all activities are in line with the accepted international standards, WHO, MdM protocols, and NES level health laws and guidelines etc for the provision of health services.
• Support Medical Coordinator in developing new clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Oversee the collection, analysis, and timely reporting of the data according to the international and donor requirements.
• Ensure a training chronogram is in place and implemented as planned.
• Participate as requested in organising and implementing internal workshops and training sessions to keep up with the changing trends, new guidelines, and best practices.
• Interpret data and present how the project is progressing in terms of performance indicators, and propose plans for action for action to address any gaps in project implementation.
• Responsible for the monitoring of PHCCs to validate monitoring findings.
• Facilitate the MEAL unit in complaints resolution and action planning for monitoring findings related to the medical program.

 Reporting

• Receive morbidity data of implemented services on monthly basis; review; analyse and submit to the medical coordination team.
• Receive monthly reports from the medical team data/MEAL team.
• Provide a monthly report to Medical Coordination, detailing activities done, supervision, training given, assessments undertaken etc.
• Submit minutes of the staff meetings done with the teams
• Report PHC visit feedbacks to the Medical Coordinator.
• Support the Medical Coordinator with donor and monthly situation reports from all Medical Managers.

Coordination

• As relevant on behalf of the Medical Coordinator will attend and represent the organisation in medical technical meetings, and workshops (such as the HWG, Nutrition cluster. CoVid-19 Taskforce meetings HTAC etc)
• Also cover internal coordination such as regular meetings with base level medical managers, and also with other sector managers.
• Maintain regular contacts with other medical NGOs and organisation, through meetings, trainings, workshops etc as necessary.
• Attend technical committee meetings. Maintain contacts with LHA as frequently as possible.

Logistics

• Keep the Medical Coordinator and Medical Managers informed on any issues related to logistics needs for the medicals staff in the PHCCs.
• The incumbent will monitor budget consumptions as per the procurement and budget.
• Review and identify key procurement needs of medical commodities in procurement plans/budget of all active grants and pro-actively and timely raise the requests to the procurement teams in collaboration with the medical managers.

Other duties;

• Integrating gender equality measures at field level.
• Assume the Medical Coordinator responsibilities in case of her or his absence.
• Any other related duties as may be assigned by the Medical Coordinator.
