Position: MEL Officer
Availability: by the end of July (essential)
Application deadline: July 22
Base: Amuda, Al Hassakah or Al Kamishli
Type of contract: project-based contract
Assignment: External Evaluation – northeast Syria
Duration: 2-3 months renewable based on winning assignments
Communication and Coordination:
- Under the direction of team lead, lead the communication channels with client/partner organization teams
- Follow up with the client on submitting the documents requested at the inception stage
- Organize, host and facilitate meetings and calls with the client
- Communicate with client’s dedicated focal points for the facilitation of data collection
- Communicate with the relevant stakeholders nominated for the data collection (KIIs, FGDs)
Monitoring and evaluation
- Contribute to the creation of data collection tools based on research questions
- Code the relevant quantitative tools on Kobo
- Conduct piloting and testing and flag any technical and contextual issues with the tools
- Build the capacity of the enumerator team and conduct trainings related to data collection best practices – general data collection glossary and principles – specific training on the project’s tools and objectives
- Conduct regular data quality spot checks and follow up on errors and typos
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative preliminary data analysis
- University degree
- At least 2-year experience with a MEAL/MEL position at International and National NGOs
- Fluent in English is mandatory to lead the communication with clients
- Experience with KoBo toolbox coding and management
- Experience with data analysis, indicator calculation, and excel charts and formulas
