Main Duties & Responsibilities
Work together with the Concern MSNA team to conduct MSNA data collection across all relevant sectors, including Food Security, Protection, WASH, Livelihoods, Nutrition, and Education, in pre-selected locations and with identified stakeholders.
Conduct in-depth household surveys with selected community members in pre-selected locations, covering the relevant MSNA sectors.
Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with targeted communities in selected locations and in line with the MSNA methodology and guidance.
Support the MSNA team in conducting Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with relevant local government representatives, sector stakeholders, community representatives, and other identified key informants.
Ensure that all data is collected accurately, consistently, and in accordance with the approved MSNA tools, methodology, and ethical standards.
Support the MSNA team with daily data quality checks and review processes, including identifying and reporting any inconsistencies, errors, or challenges encountered during data collection.
Participate in MSNA training sessions, briefings, coordination meetings, and tool-testing exercises as requested.
Provide daily feedback and observations to the MSNA team regarding the data collection process, community responses, contextual issues, and any other observations that may be relevant to the assessment.
Support the MSNA team in reviewing and following up on findings and analysis, and provide timely additional information, clarification, or data feedback when requested from MSNA supervisor staff.
Promote Concern Worldwide’s Feedback, Complaints and Response Mechanism (FCRM) and ensure that all MSNA participants are appropriately informed about the available FCRM channels after completing each type of assessment.
Communicate respectfully and professionally with programme participants, community members, stakeholders, and Concern Worldwide staff, ensuring that all participants are treated with dignity, respect, and courtesy.
Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of assessment participants throughout the data collection process.
Follow Concern Worldwide’s safeguarding, protection, data protection, and ethical standards during all MSNA activities.
Perform any other relevant duties or tasks as assigned by the line supervisor in support of the MSNA.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
Higher Secondary Certificate or Bachelor’s degree (BA or equivalent) is preferred.
Experience and Skills
Fluency in the local language(s) relevant to the location of recruitment.
Previous experience in data collection, household surveys, interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), or similar assessment activities is preferred.
Good listening, communication, and note-taking skills, particularly during interviews and group discussions.
Basic understanding of humanitarian principles, community engagement, and ethical data collection.
Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage assigned tasks and follow data collection schedules.

Previous experience with digital data gathering (DDG) applications. i.e. Iform builder, Kobo, ODK.
