We are currently seeking qualified Civil/Structural Engineers to join our on-call/project-based talent pool. Selected candidates will support the implementation of damage assessments, structural design, site supervision, and construction oversight for reconstruction and rehabilitation projects in urban and rural contexts across Syria.
Conduct building damage assessments and prepare detailed technical reports, including recommendations for repair, strengthening, or demolition.
Prepare structural designs and calculations for residential, public, and commercial buildings in line with Syrian and international codes.
Contribute to the development of engineering design packages, including drawings, BOQs, specifications, and geotechnical inputs.
Supervise and monitor ongoing construction projects to ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety protocols, and timelines.
Collaborate with architects, site engineers, and contractors to resolve technical issues on-site.
Provide cost estimates, structural assessments, and technical input during project planning and tendering stages.
Support the implementation of site clearance and debris management protocols where applicable.
Participate in training and knowledge transfer initiatives with junior engineers, community workers, or site laborers.
Ensure that all engineering practices align with environmental, social, and safety standards as per the company’s policies.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in design, assessment, or supervision of civil/structural projects.
Registered member of the Syndicate of Engineers in Syria (preferred).
Proven ability to conduct structural assessments and damage classifications in post-conflict or post-disaster settings is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with relevant engineering software such as:
AutoCAD
SAP2000 / ETABS / SAFE
Revit (optional but preferred)
MS Excel and Word
Creative mindset with the ability to generate practical and resilient design solutions.
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Availability for short-term, project-based, or part-time assignments.
Willingness to travel to different locations inside Syria (Deir ez-Zor in particular), including remote or underserved areas.
