The Health/Nutrition Worker will be responsible for providing nutrition screening, counselling, and awareness sessions for beneficiaries accessing the Mobile Clinic. Refer cases to specialized services when needed, and contribute to health promotion activities as well as the MUAC survey of children and PLW. Conducting educational sessions on nutrition topics
- Nutrition Screening:
- Conduct Periodically MUAC screening for children and identifying cases of malnutrition
- Conduct weight and height surveys for children periodically
- Referring children whose cases of malnutrition are detected to the specialized treatment center
- Follow up on the malnutrition cases to record their progress
- Assist with nutrition care and ensure that mothers and infants receive the necessary care and guidance.
- Awareness Sessions:
- Conduct educational sessions on IYCF topics such as breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and other topics related
- Promote healthy nutrition practices and offer advice on topics such as exclusive breastfeeding.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date beneficiaries’ records, including delivery outcomes, and nutrition assessments
- Report any complications or critical cases to the supervising medical professional or relevant authorities.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work in collaboration with other health professionals, including the nurse, the doctor, and midwife, to ensure the best care for patients.
- Support the operation of the mobile clinic and assist with logistics and equipment management as needed.
- Registered nurse with valid certification and licensure or medical background
- Proven experience in nutrition and child health services
- Strong knowledge of IYCF guidelines, breastfeeding, and hygiene practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the community and provide counseling.
- Ability to work in mobile or remote settings
