General Description of the Role & Main Responsibilities:
The Senior MEAL Officer supports the effective implementation of monitoring plans for projects in DZ.
Under the supervision of the MEAL Coordinator, the senior MEAL officer will report to the NES MEAL
Coordinator, and will assist in conducting monitoring and evaluation activities, including data collection,
analysis, and reporting. This role focuses on ensuring data quality, supporting accountability
mechanisms, and contributing to learning activities to improve project quality and effectiveness.
Support the MEAL Coordinator in managing day-to-day MEAL operations and systems in NES projects.
Supervise and provide technical guidance to MEAL team members, and ensuring adherence to quality standards in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Support the design, development, and implementation of MEAL tools, plans, and methodologies aligned with organizational and donor requirements.
Conduct capacity building and training for MEAL staff and partners on MEAL systems, tools, and data management processes.
Facilitate effective data collection, quality assurance, and timely reporting to inform programmatic decision-making and donor compliance.
Support the integration of accountability mechanisms, including feedback and complaints systems, ensuring responsiveness to affected populations.
Collaborate closely with program teams, partners, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of data use, learning, and adaptation.
Undertake field visits to monitor MEAL activities, verify data quality, and provide on-site technical assistance.
Contribute to the learning and improvement of projects through evaluations, assessments, and documentation of lessons learned.
Other duties as assigned by the MEAL Coordinator or line manager
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
University Degree in BA, IT, or another relevant field Special trainings in MEAL.
Skills & Abilities:
General Work Experience:
A minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in MEAL, data management and reporting.IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power BI
