This role includes implementing security protocols, assessing risks, coordinating with local authorities, and responding effectively to incidents to maintain a secure and safe working environment. The officer plays a key role in promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, and compliance across all levels of the organization.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Specific Responsibilities:

  • The Security Assistance shall work under the Security Department in cooperation with all other related departments and report directly to Security officer.
  • When directed, the Security Assistance shall seek and provide information and establish communication with government Offices, official administration, Police and local Authorities etc. and be able to represent the organizational purposes, principles, and projects.
  • Develop and strengthen mechanisms for peace, safety and security promotion.
  • First point of contact for staff on safety and security concerns.
  • Monitor national, Social and political and security issues and inform senior staff of issues that

affect or may affect, Blumont programs.

  • Train and supervise compound security Watchman.
  • Conduct security Risk Assessment for the area.
  • Update Emergency Tree Contact for staffs.
  • Brief the Security officer and Blumont management team when changes in the security environment are detected.
  • Compile and submit incident reports within correct time limits.
  • Conduct regular checklist inspection for the location.
  • update and issue relevant security procedures.
  • Prepare and send the Daily/weekly security report to the Security department.
  • Provide security briefing, update, and training to Blumont team.
  • Assist with fire drills and emergency evacuations.
  • Managing emergency situations.
  • Monitor's intrusion detection alarms.
  • Maintains database records and hard copy files including those used to track safety and security data.
  • Assisting in emergencies as needed (Health, Fire, Bomb threats, discipline incidents, etc.).
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
  • Ensure proper implementation of security measures.
  • Uphold integrity and confidentiality.
  • Conduct situational monitoring and analysis.
  • Conduct security actor networking.
  • Conduct Security assessment for each location as per request from time to time according to Security context.
  • Fulfils coordination function with security community, NGOs, and other authorities.
  • Closes out actions on the security action tracker.
  • Carry out other activities as requested.
  • University degree in Law, International Law, Political Science, or a related field, or any equivalent degree that qualifies the candidate for this position.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working with international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) with security departments.
  • Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant security clearance procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of routine fiscal management procedures and documentation as pertaining to public institutions.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. Organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Skill in utilizing building security and lock systems and procedures.
  • Skill in the use of computerized spreadsheet, relational database, and word processing software
