Job Summary:
In this role, the WASH Assistant Technical surge staff will work closely with all WASH Assistants to ensure effective rehabilitation of two water stations in selected locations and help prepare for WASH trainings. The surge staff will mainly support the jobs of community engagement, program assessments, and hygiene promotion activities – creation of materials and supporting the WASH Assistant on the delivery of trainings. In this role, the surge staff will conduct regular visits to the project sites to support the community engagement aspects of the project. The surge staff will help the WASH Assistant, as needed, by reporting data on activities and offering inputs for reporting requirements to the WASH PM.
Job Duties:
● Support as needed to ensure the timely and satisfactory completion of the rehabilitation of water stations, conduct and monitor trainings, and other supporting works to WASH Assistant
● Coordinate with the WASH Assistant and WASH Officer to consult with local authorities to ensure buy-in and agreement
● Work closely with other supporting staff to ensure close collaboration between teammates
● With the guidance of the WASH Assistant, regularly report on program activities and data to the WASH PM
● Assist with conducting program surveys, needs assessments, and assessments/planning for 2025 to 2026 for the donor grant
● Assist with organizing hygiene assessments and trainings and community engagement
● Effectively coordinate with multiple departments such as security, logistics, human resources, finance, warehouse and other programs to further relevant program activities
● Complete other activities and reports as assigned
● Be willing to consider helping the organization respond when emergency responses are implemented
Complete other activities as directed by the WASH PM and performing all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of the organization with a generous and serving spirit.

Education / Experience Needed:
● University Degree
● One year of working in community engagement
● At least one year of relevant WASH work experience (recommended but not required)
● Good computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel are required
● Experience facilitating trainings and developing training content
● Work experience with INGO’s is preferred but not required
LANGUAGE:
● Arabic/Kurdish
● English recommended but not required
