POSITION SUMMARY:
Community Mobilizers are frontline staff who work directly with communities, serving as a vital
communication link between the community and the organization. The role focuses on
implementing awareness activities, collecting feedback, supporting community engagement, and
facilitating safe access to services in line with humanitarian principles and protection standards,
the role will include main task to support social cohesion, conflict resolution programming.
Please note: This role is contingent upon the execution of award. Hiring decisions and
employment start dates are subject to funding availability. This is a local role; no expat benefits
will be provided.
Supervisory level: Social Cohesion Officer
Organize sessions on social cohesion and design and implement related events,
exhibitions, and activities to promote social cohesion.
• Support the implementation of youth initiatives and community rehabilitation planning.
• Organize focus group discussions, community consultations, and feedback mechanisms.
• Ensure safe referral to qualified service providers when specialized interventions are
required.
• Participate in disseminating service maps and raise awareness about available services and
organizational objectives.
• Implement field-based awareness activities on core protection and conflict resolution
topics and relevant humanitarian issues and participate in organizing community events
linked to international days to promote awareness and social cohesion.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a community mobilizer, or previous experience in child protection,
protection mainstreaming, and GBV, with at least 2 years of work experience in community
service.
• Demonstrated experience delivering outreach and conflict mitigation activities supporting
diverse groups, including children, adolescents, women, men, older persons, and persons
with disabilities.• Familiarity or willingness to learn protection, peace building and dialogue facilitation
principles
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic; working proficiency in written and spoken English is
an asset.
• Strong understanding of assessment, planning, referral, and follow-up processes for
vulnerable individuals and households.
Travel Requirements:
• Hasakeh and Shaddadi based positions, with daily travel to field programming sites within
the governorate.
