Under the supervision of the Partnerships Manager, the Capacity Building Officer will be based inside Syria and will support the Localization Capacity Building Project in collaboration with WFP. S/he will coordinate with LNGOs and WV teams to assess organizational needs, develop and consolidate capacity action plans, and oversee the logistics of training delivery. The Capacity Building Officer will also support training sessions by managing pre- and post-tests and ensuring participant attendance and engagement. S/he will work closely with the Projects Manager, Project Officer, and the other Capacity Building Officer. The role demands strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills to manage relationships with stakeholders and will be covered 100% for 3 months and will report to the Projects Manager.
Project Implementation and Planning
Collaborate directly with the project officer, capacity building officer and the project Manager to ensure smooth project operations.
Attend and actively participate in project-related meetings with stakeholders to align on project objectives and milestones.
Conduct weekly field visits to each partner LNGOs, providing continuous communication, support, and consultation.
Develop, maintain, and continuously update work plans, including detailed action plan and capacity development action plan in collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
Lead the Capacity Assessments of the partner LNGOs through field visits or online, gathering detailed information to identify gaps and training needs.
Analyse assessment results, draft a plan to address identified gaps, and share this with relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with the GMF team in preparing a capacity-building plan based on the GMF curriculum at World Vision Organization.
Participate in the preparation of project reports, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Oversee the documentation process for all project activities to ensure compliance and transparency. Coordinate with MEAL Department to ensure that all project activities are executed as planned and that verification indicators are met.
Prepare and submit the project closure report along with all required documentation
Coordinate with the Partnerships Manager on all matters related to LNGO engagement and activities.
Ensure smooth operations during training days, including managing pre- and post-tests and supporting facilitators.
Consolidate and maintain Capacity Action Plans for partner LNGOs.
Prepare periodic progress reports on training sessions, participation, and follow-up actions.
Requirements for the Role.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in capacity building, training coordination, or partnership management within NGOs or development programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with online collaboration platforms is an asset
