Blumont is hiring two Child Protection Community Facilitators: one in Al-Hol Camp and one in Roj Camp. The Child Protection Community Facilitator plays a key frontline role in delivering structured and semi-structured activities within Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS) to promote the safety, psychosocial well-being, and development of children affected by conflict and displacement. Working closely with community members, caregivers, and the child protection team, the facilitator provides age-appropriate activities, supports the identification and referral of vulnerable children, and fosters strong community participation in child protection initiatives. This position is essential for ensuring that the CFS is a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children feel supported, respected, and empowered.

Child-Friendly Space Facilitation and Programming 
 

  • · Deliver structured, semi-structured, and recreational activities in static CFS locations, in collaboration with Community Mobilizers. 
     
  • · Prepare and facilitate psychosocial support workshops and resilience-building sessions using approved approaches, ensuring activities are inclusive, age-appropriate, and engaging. 
     
  • · Maintain a safe, child-friendly, and participatory environment within the CFS, ensuring children’s rights, dignity, and protection are respected at all times. 
     
  • · Monitor children’s participation and well-being, adapting activities as needed and reporting emerging needs or concerns to the supervisor. 
     

Child Protection, Identification, and Referral 
 

  • · Observe and identify signs of distress, abuse, neglect, or other protection risks among children and refer them to specialized services following established protocols. 
     
  • · Support safe and timely referrals to case management, MHPSS, or other specialized services, coordinating closely with the child protection team. 
     
  • · Participate in regular capacity-building activities to strengthen skills in child protection, safeguarding, and psychosocial support. 
     
  • · Maintain accurate and confidential records of children’s attendance, participation, and referrals to support follow-up and program monitoring. 
     

Community Engagement and Caregiver Participation

  • · Build and maintain positive relationships with caregivers and community leaders, ensuring their active involvement in planning and decision-making around CFS activities. 
     
  • · Conduct outreach and awareness sessions to promote CFS services, encourage participation, and strengthen protective practices within families and communities. 
     
  • · Identify and liaise with community representatives in potential new CFS locations, providing recommendations to the child protection team. 
     
  • · Facilitate feedback meetings and discussions with caregivers to share progress, address concerns, and adapt programming to community needs. 
     

Coordination, Planning, and Reporting 
 

  • · Participate in team coordination and planning meetings, contributing to the design, implementation, and evaluation of CFS activities. 
     
  • · Support procurement and stock management of materials and supplies to ensure the CFS remains well-equipped and functional. 
     
  • · Contribute to reporting and documentation, including attendance sheets, activity summaries, incident reports, and success stories. 
     
  • · Assist with data collection and accountability processes to inform program planning, monitoring, and evaluation efforts.
  • · A diploma or Bachelor’s degree in sociology, social science, social studies, or a relevant field is required. 
     


 

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS 
 

  • · Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in humanitarian, educational, or community settings. 
     
  • · Basic understanding of child protection principles, safeguarding standards, and referral procedures. 
     
  • · Skilled in mobilizing caregivers and community members to support child protection initiatives. 
     
  • · Familiarity with psychosocial support approaches, creative facilitation methods, and child-friendly activity design. 
     
  • · Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work respectfully with children and families from diverse backgrounds. 
     
  • · Commitment to child safeguarding, non-discrimination, confidentiality, and humanitarian principles. 
     
  • · Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is required; English working proficiency is an asset.
