Position: Health Information System Officer_ HIS
Direct manager position: MEAL Coordinator
Project/ Workplace: Northeast Syria, Deir Ezzor

Oversee the implementation and configuration of the health information system, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for data collection, entry, and management to ensure data quality and integrity
Provide training and ongoing support to healthcare staff on the use of the health information system, including data entry, retrieval, and reporting
Manage user accounts, access permissions, and system security to protect sensitive health information
Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrators to identify data requirements and develop appropriate data collection tools and templates
Perform regular data quality checks, identify and address data discrepancies, and implement data cleaning procedures
Analyze health data to generate meaningful reports, dashboards, and visualizations tosupport decision making
Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to the health information system
Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as IT service providers and regulatory
bodies, to ensure system compliance and integration
Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to health information management
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in health information systems
Perform any related duties as assigned by the Senior MEAL Officer or Project Manager.
Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics or Informatics Engineering
2-3 years of experience in health information management or health information technology
Strong understanding of health information systems, data management, and data analysis principles
Proficiency in using health information system software, data analysis tools, and reporting applications
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare staff and stakeholders
Ability to problem-solve, think critically, and make data-driven decisions
Strong attention to detail and data quality management skills
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices related to health information management
Experience in project management, change management, and process improvement
Adaptability to changes in technology, regulations, and healthcare requirements
Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows
