 Position: MEAL Assistant - Part-Time

Direct manager position: MEAL Officer. 
 

Project/ Workplace: Northeast Syria, Tabqa

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Program/Technical Delivery
• Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including paperwork and orientation schedules.
• The Field MEAL Assistant supports the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and
learning (MEAL) activities for field-based projects and initiatives.
• S/he is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on project data to help drive informed decisionmaking and continuous improvement.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
• Facilitating communication between stakeholders and the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and
Learning (MEAL) teams
• Ensuring all parties are informed of policies, procedures, and updates.
• Building strong relationships with internal departments and external partners.
• Acting as a liaison to understand the needs and concerns of stakeholders.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
• Collecting data from the field using approved monitoring tools.
• Entering and analyzing data using software such as Excel, Kobo, and Power BI.
• Coordinating with field teams to ensure data accuracy and quality.
• Contributing to the development of evaluation tools such as questionnaires and interviews.
• Supporting the implementation of field monitoring and evaluation visits.
• Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders to ensure transparency and information sharing.
Resource Management & Compliance
• Collecting and analyzing data related to resource management using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Verifying compliance with approved organizational policies and procedures.
• Supporting the preparation of periodic compliance reports and providing feedback and recommendations.
• Participating in internal audits and field assessments. 

• Documenting operational risks and gaps related to resource utilization.
• Coordinating with management and field teams to improve data quality and enhance transparency.
• Contributing to the development of compliance assessment tools and ensuring their effective implementation.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
• Supporting field teams in implementing monitoring and evaluation activities through guidance and coordination
• Contributing to team capacity building by organizing internal training sessions on data collection tools and analysis methods.
• Promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration among different teams to ensure data quality
• Participating in the development of monitoring and evaluation work manuals and operating procedures.
• Documenting lessons learned and sharing them with the teams to improve future performance
• Contributing to assessing the team's training needs and submitting recommendations to management 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
• A bachelor's degree in Business administration, social sciences, or economics Statistics, or a related field
• At least three years of experience in similar role.
• Good computer skills, and Microsoft office (word and excel…).
• Previous INGO experience is a plus.
Desirable:
• knowledge and experience.
• Good skills in Arabic and English
