Main Responsibilities:
Support the Project Coordinator with the successful completion of assigned projects on a day-today basis to ensure the effective and accountable management of the AFH projects.
Work closely with the Project Coordinator to develop project plans (detailed implementation plan, procurement plan, human resource plan, spending plan, etc...)
Ensuring effective implementation of the project that meets partner/ donor policy, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Ensuring activities are in line with community and beneficiary needs.
Ensuring project activities are implemented to a high quality based upon related standards (e.g.Sphere, CHS, …etc.)
Ensuring proper project documentation and compilation of project data.
Cooperate with the project manager/program manager to ensure risks are appropriately managed, including financial, safety and security, programmatic and reputational.
Work closely with other departments on all issues related to the assigned project.
Ensure WASH activities are appropriate for the operating context and implemented in accordance
with Donor requirements.
Provide regular updates to direct supervisor on priorities, progress, and constraints-verbally and in writing.
Plan and manage WASH project activities in full consultation and coordination with Project Coordinator.
Contribute to the design of and drafting of WASH technical proposals if needed.
Undertake continuous analysis the WASH situation in country and identify program priorities andopportunities via technical assessments and gap analyzes
Coordinate and follow-up the day-to-day implementation of project activities to achieve project goals and objectives.
In collaboration with the Area Managers and Admin department, support the timely submission of purchase requests and ensure the timely development of project documentation for tenders,supplies, and sub-contracts
Attend WASH cluster coordination and other relevant meetings.
Build and maintain relationships with beneficiary communities; contribute to maintenance of relationships with other relevant stakeholders.
Ensure beneficiaries are consulted and their views are considered during all stages of project
implementation.
Support the Project Coordinator ensures timely preparation of high-quality donor/partner reports, as well as other reports needed/required by the local government, donors, clusters, the region, or headquarters as per reporting schedule.
Ensure child protection policies and code of conduct are being followed and promote appropriate health and safety mechanisms.
Take part in regular team and staff meetings.
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Control the operation part of the budget and raise PRs according to the procurement plan.
Coordinate and proactively engage with the project team at the project sites in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities, which may engagement in direct implementation as well.
Provide regular updates on progress, priorities and constraints and assist with the administrative duties related to the running of WASH activities in the project.
Ensure activities are completed with quality and within time and report any concerns to the project coordinator.
Ensure that the M&E systems are effectively implemented on each project site, and its tools are in place. This includes the systematic implementation and follow-up on agreed technical WASH quality benchmarks.
Actively support the development and implementation of an effective Accountability Mechanism of the project (/partner), with the focus on a) Adequate information sharing, b) Complaints and Feedback Mechanism and c) Safe, Meaningful and Ethical Participation.
Perform other duties as required by the Project Coordinator, and the Head of Programming.
General Work Experience:
Demonstrated experience in relevant WASH projects
Excellent writing and communication skills in English, and Arabic.
Experience in project management (e.g. monitoring, reporting).
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in water and sanitation engineering, civil engineering, Public Health, or
relevant technical WASH specialization.
3 years of work experience in a position related to WASH project coordination.
Ability to self – manage on a technical level and to take the initiative in daily ops
