This is a part-time position for two days a week for three months starting on 18.06.2025.
We are a non-profit organization that endeavours to bring hope and restoration to the region of Mesopotamia. Our projects vary from relief work to mid-term projects in sports, education, health, arts, and trauma counselling.
Two years ago, we launched a project in the city of Al-Hasakah that aims to provide educational support and personal development for children ages 4-17 through a variety of engaging activities.
Facilitating activities for children’s programming. A key aspect of this role is facilitating and organizing age-appropriate activities and opportunities for the growth of children’s cognitive, social, creative, and physical development. This will involve planning and organizing activities, such as games, crafts, entertainment, gardening, sports, music mindfulness exercises, story time, art projects, sensory play, etc.
Maintaining open and effective communication with parents or caregivers, i.e., providing updates on their child's progress, behaviour, and any concerns. This may involve written reports, meetings, door to door visits, or phone calls
Implementing safety measures to ensure a secure environment for children. This includes supervising outdoor play, monitoring for potential hazards, and addressing any safety concerns promptly. In your role, you will ensure the physical space is welcoming, child-friendly, and equipped with resources and materials that promote safety and comfortable.
Providing emotional support and guidance to children, i.e., helping them navigate social interactions, conflicts, and emotions in a positive and constructive manner.
Setting up and organizing the childcare space, i.e., arranging furniture, materials, and equipment for activities
Maintaining accurate records of attendance, incidents, and observations regarding children's behaviour, development, and milestones
Setting clear and age-appropriate guidelines for behaviour and interaction within the safe space
Fostering a sense of respect, empathy, and inclusivity among all
Evaluating and improving program activities
Providing monthly activity reports
Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the childcare facility, including regular sanitization of toys, surfaces, and play areas
Fostering trusting relationships with children by demonstrating reliability, consistency, and genuine care and concern for their well-being. In this role, we expect approachability and accessibility so that children can seek support and guidance when needed.
